Graduated Compression Travel socks help to lower the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), aka Coach Class Syndrome, swollen ankles and tired aching legs while flying. DVT can affect anyone at any age, even though there is no previous history. Wearing graduated compression Travel Socks can safe your life.

In recent years, following the widening press coverage of DVT, there have been a number of efforts to introduce DVT-preventative devices.

Recognized by a number of health experts, these elastic compression stockings represent one of the most accessible steps towards the reduction of DVT.  By applying a gentle pressure to the ankle, they help blood to flow around the body by squeezing it up towards the heart, which assists the body's circulation.

Any of our 15-20mmHg garments are suitable for DVT Prevention while flying

  •  Soft Microfiber two way stretch materials make these easier to don
  • Non-binding comfortable top band-keeps socks from rolling down
  • Reinforced “comfort” heel and balloon toe specifically designed with Men in mind.
  • 15-20 of gradient medium compression is the recommended graduated compression for DVT prevention
  • Ribbed design ensures these look like a standard dress sock
  • Clinically proven and physician recommended, moderate graduated support gently massages and enhances upward circulation in the leg

Great merchandise and service

It is very good to be able to buy compression socks at a reasonable price so that people that need them can have multiple pairs.

AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT AT A GOOD PRICE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN DYE LOTS. I HAVE 3 COLOR OF TAN SOCKS AND 2 COLORS OF BLUE. THEY ARE EASY TO GET ON AND ARE COMFORTABLE. I FOUND IF I SHAVED MY LEG THEY ARE EVEN MORE COMFORTABLE.

THE SOCKS ARE GREAT, AND LAST A LONG TIME. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THE POOR COLOR CONSISTENCE OF THE BLUE AND TAN. THE TAN COLOR IS THE WORST. IT VARIES A LOT BETWEEN ORDERS. I HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS. THEIR FIT AND DURABILITY IS EXCELLENT

We haven't taken a trip since I ordered these. Plan to only use them on 8+ hour plane trips.

Having to stand and work on my feet for long hours I started to develop swollen feet and ankles. My doctor recommended I start using "travel socks". I found a pair and paid nearly 40 dollars for one pair. I researched further and found Discount Surgical Stockings which offered the same kind of socks but for a lot less. I ordered a 5 pack of "Flying Socks for Men DVT Prevention" which was a great decision. These socks have a better fit that the original ones I ordered from another company and have held up to daily use for weeks now and that's just using one pair and multiple washings. I've had no swelling since and the fit has continued to be perfect with no fatigue in the material or tear from toe nails. Can't recommend these enough. Try them first! Can't beat the price.

I gave up flying years ago, but spend hours behind the wheel of a car on frequent road trips. Recently, I noticed on long 8 and 10 hour trips, my ankles would swell. The doctor recommended this kind of stocking. They solved the problem and are so comfortable I wear them everyday. I was really pleasantly surprised because of the price. It's surprisingly reasonable when compared to most others that retail around $30.00 But they seem to be a high quality, comfortable and effective product that I would recommend to others.

THESE ARE FINE SOCKS AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY LOOKING FOR TED ANTI-EMBOLISM STOCKINGS

They don't look like the picture. However, they do look enough like "normal" khaki socks that I convinced my husband to wear them. He didn't like that they pulled at the little hairs on his leg, but they were fairly easy to get on, fit, stayed up, and prevented the DVT/PE on 36 hours of flight each way. His ankles did swell slightly by the end, but overall they worked well and he has even promised to wear them when we go flying again. Major score!
Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
Q: Where are you? How's the weather?
A: We are located in Brooklyn, NY. Here is the current weather in our part of town. We hope the sun is shining by you!
