Knee HiMeasure the ankle circumference above the anklebone (narrowest part).
Measure thickest part of the calf.
Determine the length by measuring from the crease of the knee to bottom of the heel.

I started wearing these stockings this summer, after my varicose veins began throbbing every day. No more throbbing! I put them on every morning and keep them on all day. They look like regular stockings and are machine washable. So far they have held up well, no snags or loss of elasticity. I won't go back to regular stockings.

I've tried several brands of compression stockings and none make me as happy as the Jobst UltraSheer. These appear to be "normal" stockings. When I wear them, no one asks me medical questions because they look just like any other stocking on the market. However, they feel much different. They are very supportive and once you get used to compression stockings, you expect that support and enjoy it. I think the other thing I like about them is that they are sturdy. They hold up well through many washings and are tough to pick or tear. They may seem expensive, but overall, they are worth every penny.
