Measure thickest part of the calf.
Determine the length by measuring from the crease of the knee to bottom of the heel.

I am a surgeon and stand for 10-12 hours at a time. These have been my favorite stockings for years. They tolerate handwashing and drying. I replace a pair every year or so, but they are still in good condition. Definitely worth the expense.
I haven't ever really worn them with a skirt--they look like pantyhose and I just don't like the look.

the stockings definitely help with leg pain and discomfort. they are stylish and sheer enough to wear with dresses and skirts. they fit well which is often difficult to find appropriate sizes for petites. i do wish that all support stockings could be more affordable for those of us who are on a budget but cannot go without them because of daily pain.
