My legs are the only part of me that isn't tired at the end of the day. DSS is great at getting them to me on a periodic basis.

I use a power wheelchair and therefore am in a sitting position most of the day. These stockings were given to me by my therapist to help with the swelling in my legs. Within a few days of wearing this product, the swelling was gone. I now wear them everyday, for the past few years, from morning to bedtime.and have not had a problem since. The few times that I was lazy and did not wears them, the swelling returned. I have tried cheaper products with the same compression rating, but they do not perform the task. 30-40mmHg is a strong compression made for moderate swelling & circulation problems. If your needs are less, you should consider a lower compression rating, but I do recommend the Juzo brand and I do recommend Discount Surgical Stockings as the place to buy them. The company has always given me great service at great prices.

Not a day starts until my stockings are put and ends with taking it off before bathing and sleeping. My legs have never swelled up during this period, I do test not using and before noon have to put on the stockings. When I first started I could put them on my self, but with age and a bad back I am very fortunate my wife puts them on and takes them off unless my grandson is present and does it. The fit has been perfect all these years and I replace them every 3 or 4 monts.

this is the most comfortable compression hose ever....the silicone top eliminates the tight ring left by other compression hose brands,,,,can't go wrong with this item

I used Jobst 40mm stockings for several years, and Juzo 40 mm for past 2 years. The Juzo work far better at controlling swelling, and do so reliably for 6 months. They are the only stockings guaranteed to last 6 months. They are harder to put on, but getting open toe and using the paper guide, plus Sigvaris rubber gloves makes putting them on much easier, probably a minute or so each--not bad. ... The black ones turn wash black and will stain any other colors being hand washed at same time. This has continued the entire 6 months I've owned the two pair I have. The beige don't do this. So, I've gone back to beige. I had wanted to alternate colors for each order so I could instantly see which were the older ones. I don't throw my older ones out immediately after 6 months, but may alternate them in for short periods if my legs are doing very well. I sometimes put an older pair of 40mm Jobst on top of an older pair of Juzo if my legs are a bit swollen and I want to get them quickly back down. Perhaps not recommended, but it works (I'e told my Dr. about this too).

I would definitely recomend these stalkings to others, they are just like the stocking..fitted by a professional fitting place, but, are much cheaper, and you don't have to get a prescription filled everytime..you need them.

The silicone tops are great. The open toes are nice, particularly in summer. But why, why, why do these hose makers think everyone has the same size foot? Because these are too small for my foot I spend all day pulling them down towards my toes, which is very irritaating. When you spend this much for a pair of stockings, surely they could be offered in a range of different foot sizes!

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
Q: Where are you? How's the weather?
A: We are located in Brooklyn, NY. Here is the current weather in our part of town. We hope the sun is shining by you!
