My wife normally purchases Medi Plus 40005 what would be the sizing ffor Opaque Thigh high w-silicone 40-50 open toe Asked by John
We would recommend XL.
When I opened this stocking page (40-50 thigh length) it showed the price $21.95. When I tried to add to my cart, it changed to $35.95. Why did it change.

worth the money 0 people found this helpfulThese stockings work just as well as the overpriced 'name' brands. There could be a couple of changes. The foot section is very long. I wear a size 11 woman's shoe and the foot part is long for me, can't imagine a smaller foot dealing with this. Also I need a medium for my calf & ankle, but an extra large for my thigh. Buying the XL is working, but they still roll or slide down. Overall I will keep buying them.

A good solution if they weren't always backordered 0 people found this helpfulI use these stockings to manage lymphedema. I order 8 pair at a time, replacing them every 3 months to keep them strong. This system doesn't work very well because these stockings are always backordered - my order from two months ago is still backordered, with no indication of when it will be available, and my previous order was backordered about a month. The only solution may be to buy twice as many every six months because availability just isn't reliable enough to order new ones every three months.

great value! 0 people found this helpfulI was buying Sigvaris but they got too expensive for me. Found Absolute, tried them & fell in love with the price. There are two cons to these stockings.... I need the thigh highs, but being heavy in the thigh I need the XL, but medium for the calf & ankle. I don't know why, but the tops roll down on me 'pinching' my thigh. The XL helps with that. The other con is the length of the foot.... I wear a size 11 shoe & the foot is a tad long for me. poor woman that wears a size 8..... Outside of these two things, I am more than pleased with this product.

Most affordable solution for effectively managing lymphedema 0 people found this helpfulThese stockings do the job, and for the price are amazing. They are drastically less expensive than the comparable Sigvaris which I used to use. I buy 8 pair at a time so I can wear one per day while only doing a laundry once per week. This is for hygiene's sake and because a stocking will not work as well if it's not fresh from the wash. The 8th pair is for occasions when I'm unable to do a laundry on schedule. I repurchase the 8 pair every three to four months because stockings wear out and need replacing a few times a year to provide enough compression.
This ends up being a few hundred less per year than I was paying when I was wearing Sigvaris, because with Sigvaris I was only purchasing the 8 pair once per year, not every few months. Every three months wasn't an option economically. So of course the Sigvaris stockings became less and less effective over the year, and my quality of life degraded until it was time to buy new ones. Since this house brand is so much less expensive, less money can buy me consistent compression (and hygiene) year-round.
One problem I've had with these: my skin reacted to the top of the stockings, perhaps the silicone border. It did not react to the Sigvaris this way. However, over time it seems to have gotten used to it. I also have atopic dermatitis, which reacts to a lot of things, so this may just be a problem for me.
