Customer Questions
My ankle is 10" Calf 19" Thigh 32" Hip 50" what should I order? Asked by June
My measurements are: ankle 8, calf 14, thigh 21 and hips 36. Would you recommend a small or medium? Asked by Christine

With the measurements you provided I would recommend size medium.

I am scheduled to start a series of vein surgeries in a little over a month, and I will need to wear compression stockings for a good while. Looking over the different products, I seem to be bridging the sizes. My ankle measurement is 9, calf is 16, thigh is 25.5, Thigh length is 30.5, hip measurement is 38. I am interested in the leggings, though I have been cautioned that my feet may swell due to needing 20-30mm. What do you recommend? I was professionally measured for Jobst stockings as a Medium, but they are so pricey. Asked by Karen

In this item you would be a size large but as you mentioned it is very possible that you will experience swelling in your feet so possibly consider a full foot item if possible.

Measurement-wise I need a small, since I'm at the lower end of every measurement, BUT when I ordered the open-toe knee-high socks they ended up scooting down my calf because they were simply too short I'm 5'8". Do you have any experience with these leggings when it comes to longer legs? I don't want to end up with capris... Asked by Heike

Due to your height the small would fit as Capri. In order for these to be long enough for you, yoou might need a size large for them to be exactly on your ankle bone.

I fit the 20-30 mmhg Sigvaris size small, but other brands it's a hit or miss. I'm 5.2, 125 lbs, size 6 for clothing. What size should I order for this brand? Asked by Marian

The Item A717 Is sized according to measurements. We suggest to measure your legs, circumference of the thinnest part above the ankle bone, circumference of the thickest part of the calf, thigh at the groin area and length from the bottom of your buttocks...

What is the inseam measurement? Would the medium size be long enough for someone 5'10"? Asked by Carolyn

This item is size according to calf measurement. Length wise the item will stretch to 17" long.

My measurements put me between a large in the lower half measurements and xxl in the upper, what is the best way to go please, my clot is in the calf Hip 52, thigh 28, calf 18, ankle 9 plus i am super short. I have never had full length only knee high Asked by Sharryn

We suugest to order the XXL size to make sure you are comfortable.

My measurements are ankle 8, calf 15, thigh 24 and hip 40. What size would I choose? Asked by Sally

I suggest the size Large. as the garment will run a tad small.

I have Chronic Venous Insufficiency, and must wear a 20/30mmHg compression. I normally wear the knee high version. However, lately I have been dealing with painful knees and thighs. I am considering going to a full leg compression. Will these compression leggings help with painful knees and thighs, as well? Asked by ChrisAnn

Yes they do help with the leg pain However if you have swelling at the feet we do nor recommend to order these. We recommend either a full foot or open toe garment.

Hi, I think I'd fit a medium, but I am very worried about length- and I have venous insufficiency so I need the compression to start at the ankle- not above! my measurements: length 34", ankle 9", calf 14", thick 22" hip 41" waist 32". Will these work for me? what size? I appreciate your help! Asked by Alexandra

This item A717 is true to size and with the measurements provided your size will be Medium.

Just had injections for varicos veins doctor told me to wear 20 30 compression I ordered these are these 20/30? Asked by Frances

The item A717 is a 20-30mmHg compression garment.

My measurements are ankle 9, calf 15 3/4, thigh 24 and hips 40. Will a medium fit? Asked by Annette

You are in the border of the size medium. We recommend you go up to the size large for a better fit.

I have taken measurements based on the sizing directions and charts. My measurements are ankle: 8", calf: 13", thigh: 23", hip: 34", and length: 31". Based on these measurements, what size should I get? Will a medium fit me? I am worried about the HUGE measurement differences for the hip. My hip is only 34", and a small has a 40" hip, a medium has a 44" hip. I'm afraid they will fall off me. Also, I don't see the length listed? Please help!! Thank you! Asked by Elizabeth

You will be fine in the size Medium. It will fit fine.

When will the gray leggings be available? Have you considered navy? I love these in black and I wear with shear knee highs. I would love these in other colors. Asked by Susan

They do not come in gray anymore. Only black and beige.

This page claims that there are 3 colors available, but the ordering only offers two. Please tell me how I can order the 3rd color. Thank you. Asked by Rosemarie

That item is only available in Beige and Black.

I wear size ML in the Sigvaris brand pantyhose and want to try your A717 leggings. Should I order size M or size L?. Asked by Rebecca

You will have to take measurements because you can be in either size.

Do you offer petites? Unfortunately I have very short legs! Asked by dianna

HI We currently only have these in 1 lengths

Compression stockings are medical grade devices designed to move blood flow.

Support compression stockings are made available in multiple compression support levels. Most commonly compression support stockings come in mild (8-15 mmHg), Medium (15-20 mmHg), Firm (20-30 mmHg), X-Firm (30-40 mmHg) gradient compression levels.

Compression Therapy Guide

  • Prevents fatigued legs from long periods of sitting or standing.
  • Helps relieve minor swelling of feet, ankles, and legs.
  • During pregnancy, helps prevent the formation of varicose and spider veins.
  • Helps maintain healthy, energized legs.
First Time Wearing Compression Stockings? We recommend you start with 15-20mmHg

RX 40-50 mmHg Gradient Compression Stockings are generally indicated for more Serious Venous Diseases such as Acute Leg/Ankle Swelling, Varicose Veins, Chronic Vein Insufficiency and Deep Vein Thrombosis.

The benefits of Compression Therapy are plentiful and the reasons vary from person to person why you may choose to wear compression socks or stockings. As shown in the above chart, some of the most prevalent symptoms or conditions that benefit from compression therapy are:

  • Pregnancy related swelling and vein problems
  • Varicose or spider veins
  • Lymphedema or edema
  • Swelling, pain or blood clots in the lower legs, also known as DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)
  • Poor circulation from sitting for long periods
  • Post-surgical and post-sclerotherapy treatment

It can even be used as a preventive measure to maintain healthy legs for someone who spends extensive amounts of time on their feet. Quite simply, when we stand still for long periods, the forces of gravity increase the pressure within the veins of the legs where the greater effects happen at the ankle and decreases gradually up the leg and body. This pressure depends on the vertical distance of the column of blood from the heart to the foot. That's why gradient compression stockings are designed with the pressure greatest at the ankle and diminishing as it moves up the leg in order to counter the effects of the higher venous pressures.

Compression therapy products are put on in the morning upon arising, which is typically before any significant swelling would occur, and then removed at night. Throughout the day the compression prevents blood from pooling in leg veins, which in turn helps your overall circulation and lessens or eliminates any leg swelling you may have.

When shopping for compression socks or stockings, it is best to measure earlier in the day before swelling builds in the legs. Measurements taken later in the day after swelling occurs may cause you to choose an item that is too large and then not effective.

There are many types of compression socks and stockings available without a prescription and they do offer wide-ranging benefits. Before wearing a compression therapy of 20 mmHg (Firm Compression) and above, it is generally recommended to consult your health care provider to find out if graduated compression stockings are right for you. If the answer is yes, they can tell you what pressure grade you should buy for maximum benefit and relief.
