Benefits & Features

Compression

Compression stockings are medical grade devices designed to move blood flow.

Support compression stockings are made available in multiple compression support levels. Most commonly compression support stockings come in mild (8-15 mmHg), Medium (15-20 mmHg), Firm (20-30 mmHg), X-Firm (30-40 mmHg) gradient compression levels.

  • Prevents fatigued legs from long periods of sitting or standing.
  • Helps relieve minor swelling of feet, ankles, and legs.
  • During pregnancy, helps prevent the formation of varicose and spider veins.
  • Helps maintain healthy, energized legs.
First Time Wearing Compression Stockings? We recommend you start with 15-20mmHg

  • Prevents deep vein thrombosis (DVT), also known as economy class syndrome.
RX 40-50 mmHg Gradient Compression Stockings are generally indicated for more Serious Venous Diseases such as Acute Leg/Ankle Swelling, Varicose Veins, Chronic Vein Insufficiency and Deep Vein Thrombosis.

The benefits of Compression Therapy are plentiful and the reasons vary from person to person why you may choose to wear compression socks or stockings. As shown in the above chart, some of the most prevalent symptoms or conditions that benefit from compression therapy are:

  • Pregnancy related swelling and vein problems
  • Varicose or spider veins
  • Lymphedema or edema
  • Swelling, pain or blood clots in the lower legs, also known as DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)
  • Poor circulation from sitting for long periods
  • Post-surgical and post-sclerotherapy treatment

It can even be used as a preventive measure to maintain healthy legs for someone who spends extensive amounts of time on their feet. Quite simply, when we stand still for long periods, the forces of gravity increase the pressure within the veins of the legs where the greater effects happen at the ankle and decreases gradually up the leg and body. This pressure depends on the vertical distance of the column of blood from the heart to the foot. That's why gradient compression stockings are designed with the pressure greatest at the ankle and diminishing as it moves up the leg in order to counter the effects of the higher venous pressures.

Compression therapy products are put on in the morning upon arising, which is typically before any significant swelling would occur, and then removed at night. Throughout the day the compression prevents blood from pooling in leg veins, which in turn helps your overall circulation and lessens or eliminates any leg swelling you may have.

When shopping for compression socks or stockings, it is best to measure earlier in the day before swelling builds in the legs. Measurements taken later in the day after swelling occurs may cause you to choose an item that is too large and then not effective.

There are many types of compression socks and stockings available without a prescription and they do offer wide-ranging benefits. Before wearing a compression therapy of 20 mmHg (Firm Compression) and above, it is generally recommended to consult your health care provider to find out if graduated compression stockings are right for you. If the answer is yes, they can tell you what pressure grade you should buy for maximum benefit and relief.

Disappointed... 0 people found this helpful
    Overall

    Fit

The fit is good, except they must be made for someone with a longer foot than I have, as the foot extends over my toes if I pull it tight. I was hoping to wear these under slacks or skirts but unfortunately the band that holds them in place shows clearly under my clothing.

A bit shiny but overall good 1 people found this helpful
    Overall

    Fit

They are a bit more shiny than I would like. the color itself is nice but not the shine. Fit is alright I am 5 ft 9 and got the large yet I had to work hard to get them to go up as high as I wanted on my thigh, I compared them to another pair of thigh highs I have and they are an inch or two shorter (when in the hand). The are quite comfortable though and they stay in place with the silicone rubber edge.

Great price and fit, my favorites 0 people found this helpful
    Overall

    Fit

I’ve had to use thigh highs on my right leg for 6 years now . All day everyday. So I have bought almost every brand. But these are priced so well and I can buy them more often. They are my favorite .
I would say the downside is the COLOR.
Once in awhile it’s great. But most the time they are a little too orange . I feel they need to be more consistent with that.

Life saving socks that may have saved my life! 0 people found this helpful
    Overall

    Fit

I wear these stockings everyday. they fit well and do not walk down your thighs like others I have tried. I have worn them for two summers now with my shorts and although my legs now appear feminine as wearing nylons.....I do not care! I had phlebectomy surgery last Jan and was told as long as I wear them no further surgery will be needed. If not I will need additional surgery within 5 years. So I wear them every day in public. They are not really hot in summer and keep my legs warmer in wRead moreinter. I call them my antigravity socks and everyone gets a chuckle out of this. Men.......get with the program......if you have bad legs wear them........might even save your life.

Good product, good value 2 people found this helpful
    Overall

    Fit

I have worn compression stocking for many years including knee highs, pantyhose and thigh highs. I am 5"10 and these are long enough, stay up and are more sheer than my others. They hand wash very well. No more pantyhose for me. I wore them post vein laser and sclerotherapy and am continuing to wear them as I will always need support for my legs. I will order more in the future.
