I am thrilled with the leggings I received today. They are so supportive and also extremely comfortable. I have had 2 varicose vein surgeries in the past, and NO product I have ever used is of this quality. Also, since they are leggings they won't rip by the toe area. You have created a TERRIFIC,EXCEPTIONAL product. BRAVO to you !!!!

I'm happy with the service I get from Discount Surgical Stockings company. It's easy to order, my order comes in a timely manner, they don't charge extra fees to mail to Alaska, and the support hose I get fit well, last a long time and serve their purpose. Thanks.

I have varicose veins in both legs, and some days the throbbing and pain is ridiculous! I had worn thigh-high compression stocking in the past, but the band around the thigh at times hurt worse than my veins. After googling compression stocking to see what options are available on-line, I decided to try a pair of the leggings. They are FANTASTIC!! My legs feel so much better, even if i am on my feet all day. I wear the leggings every day, usually under jeans but they look great under a skirt or dress. Thank you for a wonderful product that does not look at all like surgical stockings!

My legs no longer ache. It helps My Knees. I have ordered two pair for my sister and two weeks later she asked me to order two additional pair for her. We love our leggings. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Q & A

Ask a Question
16 questions for this item
Q: My measurements are: ankle 8, calf 14, thigh 21 and hips 36. Would you recommend a small or medium?
A: With the measurements you provided I would recommend size medium.
Q: I am scheduled to start a series of vein surgeries in a little over a month, and I will need to wear compression stockings for a good while. Looking over the different products, I seem to be bridging the sizes. My ankle measurement is 9, calf is 16, thigh is 25.5, Thigh length is 30.5, hip measurement is 38. I am interested in the leggings, though I have been cautioned that my feet may swell due to needing 20-30mm. What do you recommend? I was professionally measured for Jobst stockings as a Medium, but they are so pricey.
A: In this item you would be a size large but as you mentioned it is very possible that you will experience swelling in your feet so possibly consider a full foot item if possible.
Q: Measurement-wise I need a small, since I'm at the lower end of every measurement, BUT when I ordered the open-toe knee-high socks they ended up scooting down my calf because they were simply too short I'm 5'8". Do you have any experience with these leggings when it comes to longer legs? I don't want to end up with capris...
A: Due to your height the small would fit as Capri. In order for these to be long enough for you, yoou might need a size large for them to be exactly on your ankle bone.
Q: I fit the 20-30 mmhg Sigvaris size small, but other brands it's a hit or miss. I'm 5.2, 125 lbs, size 6 for clothing. What size should I order for this brand?
A: The Item A717 Is sized according to measurements. We suggest to measure your legs, circumference of the thinnest part above the ankle bone, circumference of the thickest part of the calf, thigh at the groin area and length from the bottom of your buttocks to the heel before the floor. you can call us for further assistance or compare the measurements to the size chart provided on the website.
Q: What is the inseam measurement? Would the medium size be long enough for someone 5'10"?
A: This item is size according to calf measurement. Length wise the item will stretch to 17" long.
Q: My measurements are ankle 8, calf 15, thigh 24 and hip 40. What size would I choose?
A: I suggest the size Large. as the garment will run a tad small.
Q: My measurements put me between a large in the lower half measurements and xxl in the upper, what is the best way to go please, my clot is in the calf Hip 52, thigh 28, calf 18, ankle 9 plus i am super short. I have never had full length only knee high
A: We suugest to order the XXL size to make sure you are comfortable.
Q: I have Chronic Venous Insufficiency, and must wear a 20/30mmHg compression. I normally wear the knee high version. However, lately I have been dealing with painful knees and thighs. I am considering going to a full leg compression. Will these compression leggings help with painful knees and thighs, as well?
A: Yes they do help with the leg pain However if you have swelling at the feet we do nor recommend to order these. We recommend either a full foot or open toe garment.
Q: My measurements are ankle 9, calf 15 3/4, thigh 24 and hips 40. Will a medium fit?
A: You are in the border of the size medium. We recommend you go up to the size large for a better fit.
Q: Just had injections for varicos veins doctor told me to wear 20 30 compression I ordered these are these 20/30?
A: The item A717 is a 20-30mmHg compression garment.
Q: Hi, I think I'd fit a medium, but I am very worried about length- and I have venous insufficiency so I need the compression to start at the ankle- not above! my measurements: length 34", ankle 9", calf 14", thick 22" hip 41" waist 32". Will these work for me? what size? I appreciate your help!
A: This item A717 is true to size and with the measurements provided your size will be Medium.
Q: I have taken measurements based on the sizing directions and charts. My measurements are ankle: 8", calf: 13", thigh: 23", hip: 34", and length: 31". Based on these measurements, what size should I get? Will a medium fit me? I am worried about the HUGE measurement differences for the hip. My hip is only 34", and a small has a 40" hip, a medium has a 44" hip. I'm afraid they will fall off me. Also, I don't see the length listed? Please help!! Thank you!
A: You will be fine in the size Medium. It will fit fine.
Q: When will the gray leggings be available? Have you considered navy? I love these in black and I wear with shear knee highs. I would love these in other colors.
A: They do not come in gray anymore. Only black and beige.
Q: This page claims that there are 3 colors available, but the ordering only offers two. Please tell me how I can order the 3rd color. Thank you.
A: That item is only available in Beige and Black.
Q: I wear size ML in the Sigvaris brand pantyhose and want to try your A717 leggings. Should I order size M or size L?.
A: You will have to take measurements because you can be in either size.
Q: Do you offer petites? Unfortunately I have very short legs!
A: HI We currently only have these in 1 lengths
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
