I'm a 79 y.o. female with varicose veins. I was experiencing aching and fatigue in my legs and decided to wear support hose regularly. In my 20's I had worn Jobst support garments during my pregnancies because of issues with varicose veins so I looked for Jobst. The light support is enough to relieve the discomfort I was feeling. The soft tops are very comfortable and there is just enough room for the toes without binding. They aren't difficult to put on. I wash the stockings by hand and they're holding up well.

If you need these type of socks they are the best for the money. Im a first timer with doctor recommended support socks for venus insufficiancy. I was told by other to buy a lot of pair because these things rip and get holes in them, also not to put in dryer. NOT SO with this brand. Don't rip, dont sag or stretch out, and I put them in the wash and dryer. No experience with other brands but then no need to experiment. These are the way to go with lastability and price. I use full foot,,cant comment on exposed toe.

Very comfortable, but as a petite person a bit to long and they roll up on me.

I have lots of spider views in my lower legs, probably from years of working on my feet in my younger years. Had become very painful to stand for any length of time and walk very m7ch. Deep aching pain. My Dr said that as we age the walls of our veins get thinner too and can cause presume in our lower legs. Compression socks can help this. Having tried several brands of 15-20 and found them too tight, I tried these Jobst so soft 8-15 (brocade as I feared ribbed might be too tight) and they are perfect. Very soft, just right compression without any discomfort. Wick away most moisture. Highly recommend if need less than 15-20 pressure.

I remember my grandmother wearing Jobst stockings. They fit well and feel really good. Compression is perfect and colors are perfect.

I really like these support socks. I had a small problem with one of the black ones I ordered that developed a small hole in the toe area. I still wear it though make sure to position it so my toes don't work their way through! I will order these again!

On the advice of my doctor, I have been wearing these stockings for about a year now for leg pain due to varicose veins, and I love them! They fit well, wear well, and are easy to launder. They give my legs support and make them feel much less tired. The orders come quickly and accurately from Discount Surgical Supply, and the prices are good.

These stockings fit well, wash well, and help with the pain in my legs. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a light support stocking, and they were recommended to be by my doctor, who wears the same brand.

These stockings have just the right amount of support for the ankles and legs. The toe area is sufficient. The band at the top does not bind or slide down. I wash them in my washing machine and hang them on a clothesline to dry to help keep the elastic stretch in them from breaking down in the heat of a dryer.

Q & A

Ask a Question
1 question for this item
Q: The size chart does not have measurements for calf size? how do i know what size to get if my calf is huge on 1 leg? ty
A: Because of the low compression the size chart goes by shoe size, if you have any questions regarding sizing in your specific case please call us at our customer service line.
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
