I tried these hoping they would be a good fit, but they do wrinkle at the knees and ankles for me. I still wear them, but prefer the more expensive version in terms ofa much better fi.

I tried these because they were cheaper than the Medi Comfort that I've been wearing. The Assure Standard lengh seem long and tend to wrinkle up, especially behind the knee, but also at the ankle and thigh. I have tried the Petite lengh, which is better. It still wrinkles, but not as much. I have to pull them up and smooth them out every couple of hours. They're wearable, but I'm going back to the more expensive Comfort line because they're more ccmfortable and less hassle to wear.

These stockings said petite on the tag but they were too long. I've found this problem in other brands too so it didn't surprise me. They seem to be ok in all other aspects. Other than the length, they fit fine.
Admin Comment:
If you are looking for a shorter length – Juzo does have this available Juzo makes 3 Lengths Regukar – short & Petite -- while most other brands only come in 2 lengths look at model 2002AG

I recently purchased the MediMen as a cost saving measure. Previously (for the past 10 years) I wore Jobst products. As an engineer I prefer the construction of the Jobst over the MediMen, but at the same time I cannot see or feel any difference in the overall performance of the stockings. The construction of the MediMen is similar to the Jobst "sheer" style stockings of years gone by. I recall occasionally "poking" holes through those older style stockings while trying to put them on. I have not experienced a similar problem with the Jobst for Men. I normally purchase four pair per year, given the price difference one could purchase an extra pair or two of the MediMen (just in case) and still save money.

I have had to wear surgical stockings since I was in my twenties. I am now in my sixties. My favorite brand for all these years has been Medven, but the cost has been prohibitive. Finally I am getting the same stockings at less than two-thirds the price. Now I can order as often as I need. The fit is wonderful and I look forward to my next order from Discount Surgical Stockings. If you need them, this is the place to buy them!!!

Q & A

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
