The Medi Comfort graduated stockings that I wear are as important to my day as breathing is. They not only give needed pressure for my veins, but also boost my energy level a hundred fold. No, I am not joking. If I don't wear them, I become worn out within 2 hours. When wearing them, I can go all day without my legs aching or becoming so tired, because my heart doesn't have to work so hard to circulate the blood in my veins.. They are also very comfortable in warm weather, and give extra warmth in very cold temperatures. I first discovered this while working construction, where a person works in very high locations, or underground, and temperatures can be extreme. I worked very comfortably with the Medi's under my jeans. The size and strength that my doctor first prescribed is perfect for me. I am thrilled that these great stockings are available for us in these times. How lucky we are!!

The Best, The Best ,The Best! I have tried all the brands of thigh-highs and Medi-Comfort is truly the best stocking out there. They are soft, very comfortable, do the job of compression, and stay where you put them. If you take good care of them they will last for several months. I have them on right now as I'm writing this at work. Love how they make my legs feel. Lymphedema is my issue..

Love these. My first pair of Juzo. Usually wear medi-comfort. These seem softer and more comfortable. They are also more opaque which I like. More like tights which is what I was going for in the black and brown. They also come in lots of colors which is sooooooooo nice.

The Comfort Stocking is softer than my previous stocking and I find it still comfortable at the end of the day. With the others I found they started to bother my skin by the end of the day. The stocking stays put and I don't have to tug it up all day long......put it on in the morning and forget about it. Durable. I wear shorts all summer and have had many people comment that they didn't even notice the stocking for quite some time..........great since I only wear one.

I have used Medi Comfort Thigh-high stockings for several years. At first, they were prescribed by a doctor for support after vein closure. I quickly found how valuable they are for everyday wear, especially since I put in long days at work and on our small farm. They are so comfortable in warm or cold weather, and such relief!! I didn't expect it, but soon realized the tired achey feelings in my legs had disappeared. My energy level is much higher. I don't tire as easily as I once did. I am sure, and my doctor concurs, that the continual support for my vascular system is helping my heart because it doesn't have to work so hard. I won't go a day without Medi Comfort stockings.

I was introduced to Mediven Comfort Thigh-Hi Stockings by the doctor who performed a venous closure procedure for my severe varicose vein problem. If I had known what a relief it was to wear these stockings, I would have had them years ago. I am now in my mid-60's. For 30 years I have worked long hours, with very tired legs, and felt over-all fatigue. Using Mediven Comfort stockings has entirely solved that problem. I work 10-hour work days in construction, with farm work at home before and after work, with renewed energy. My heart does not have to work so hard witih the compression stockings helping my circulation, and I am no longer fatigued. I should have used these stockings during my pregnancies and child-rearing years. I am so grateful to have them now. Thank you , Dr. Tanwani, and Mediven!!

After receiving laser therapy on my leg for very prominent and painful varicose veins, I was prescribed support hose by my doctor. I was told to wear the 20/30 progression. I have ordered several pairs to be able to rotate stockings for various needs. These are my favorite. They fit beautifully and I like the weight and looks of them. I will definitely be reordering these. For winter I wil order the full toe, for summer I used the open toe style...

I have been ordering from Discount Surgical for many years now and have always been satisfied with their Mediven supports. They fit well, wash and dry well, and the prices are far better than anywhere else I've looked.

Q & A

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
