First time wearer. Have several brands to try. This is the best fit. Best color.

After spending $$$ on support socks that weren't long enough and slid down my legs moments after I put them on, I finally returned to Medven: the only brand that has ever offered socks long enough to accommodate my long legs! They still sometime slide down a bit, but not like the other brands I tried.

I'm very satisfied with my Mediven Sheer & Soft Calf Knee Highs. They support my legs well and they're easy to get on.

I am very satisfied with these support hose. I no longer have swollen ankles as I once had and my legs are no longer achy and tired.

I tried other compression hose which were too heavy and nylon. These are light weight and easier to put on and feel wonderful. I won't have any other brand. The only thing I would change is that I am 5'9" tall and I bought standard length. I have long legs. They were a bit too long for me . I found Petite was a few inches shorter and fit my legs better. I was surprised to determine that petite was a better fit than what you called standard. I love the stockings tho. Never another brand for me in the future. They cost a little more but are so worth the extra cost for every reason. Light and easier to put on. etc.

I had bought other brands that were too thick and not as comfortable but cost less. I ended up throwing them away because I had worn them so therefore could not return them. This brand cost me more but the fit is extraordinary and they are not too thick , therefore not uncomfortable. The only thing I would question is: My first pair of these bought from a medical supply store was standard length as petite was not offered. I didn't know they came in a petite length. I am 5 feet 9 inches tall and it turns out that the petite length is to me a standard length. The standard length advertised is too long for my (actually) long legs. Petite goes just under my kneecap as it should. I could not be happier than I am with the Medi Sheer brand. I would recommend them to everyone. In addition, I found Discount Surgical Company to be a perfect place to get them. I paid less than what I paid at the medical supply store and delivery was prompt. I found their customer service to be as outstanding as are the stockings.

These hose were exactly as described and were delivered when expected. They are so comfortable that I wear them all day and sometimes into the evenings. I especially appreciate the range of color tones, and they have been a considerable aid in relieving my mild leg adema. Great for travel!

During the summer of 2010 I was diagnosed with veinous insufficiency. My calves were very swollen and tender, although I could walk without pain. As soon as I began to wear these stockings, the swelling decreased significantly and my legs returned to normal. These stockings are very easy to put on and so comfortable that I really do forget that I am wearing them. I have short legs and am grateful that they are made in petite sizes.

Q & A

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
