The stockings give me the support I need and are comfortable and don't look like typical support hose.

I have had to wear surgical stockings in the past and automatically ordered what I had worn. Then, someone mentioned going to a lower degree of elasticity. Finding the right size was my problem so I ordered what they showed on their size chart and was delighted in the fit. The lighter hose does what the Doctor wants and it is not as uncomfortable.

I have been ordering Sigvaris socks lately even though they are somewhat pricey, but they do last far longer than other brands I have ordered. The only problem I have found with them is small holes developing in the heel area where the seams come together. I also did not like the color selection for the men's closed toe, thigh high socks, and wanted something that would closer match my own skin tone, so I ordered the ladies thigh high in a large size in sun tan, and finally got a color I liked, but they were open toe. I wish there were more options when it came to color and fabric. Like it would be nice if you could get the sun tan color in a thicker fabric like the black ones are made of.

The stockings are strong and very comfortable. They sit very well all day and look beautiful. I do recommend buying a pair of gloves from Sigvaris as they make it much easier to put on and take off the stockings. They also protect your rings or nails getting caught in a stitch! There is also a DVD available that shows how to care for your stockings so that they last long.

The Sigvaris fit well and have held up so far without any runs or tearing. The fit was accurate for me. The silicone band seems to be "stickier" and hold better than the Jobst silicone dots style band. (I have not yet tried the Jobst silicone lace band thigh highs)

I liked these, but was disappointed that after wearing only one time there was a hole in them??!? They are too expensive to have that happen...it's too bad, I liked them otherwise.

These are very attractive and make my legs feel great!!! My only disappointment is that they do get runs and/get holes on the bottom of my feet. I must add, I am hard on my hose...going with out shoes or slippers from time to time.

Comfortable stockings but do not hold up well!!!

good deal,worth it!

I love these stockings! They feel wonderful and are such great support. I usually don't like the way thigh highs feel because they are usually tight and binding but these are soooo comfortable. I can easily wear them everyday.

Q & A

Ask a Question
1 question for this item
Q: what color is night shade? is it a sheerer black or gray or what? if color is not nice can it be returned?
A: The night shade is an off black/ Charcoal color.
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
