Over time I’ve found that I prefer the open toe , thigh high Sigvaris support hose. I’ve also discovered that I prefer 1 size larger than the size chart recommends for my height and weight as the stockings then reach the top of my thighs which I find more comfortable. Although I wear the stockings that have the rubber band at the top that holds them up I also use a product called β€œHold It” for extra hold since I’m fairly active. I absolutely love and appreciate that these stockings are available and I’ve always been treated with kindness and respect when working with the people at Discount Surgical.

I have tried other brands, these are the best, and now my only brand!!

They fit well and didn't lose their shape or grip. Top quality product!

These thigh highs are great! They fit perfectly and they stay up all day. I have to sit long periods of time for my job and compression is the only way I am able to do that without extreme discomfort. These thigh highs do the trick and I am able to sit for 10+ hours. I would recommend these to anyone who must sit long hours and has discomfort in their legs. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the silicone grip makes me break into hives. This, of course, could be my fault if I am allergic to silicone (as it now appears I may be). Otherwise great product and I am very pleased!

Needed thigh high compression stockings after knee replacement surgery. I had bought a pair of these in a store previously for over $80. Shopping here saved me $30+ and they arrived quickly. Returnd the first pair for a larger and received my refund promptly.

These are the best fitting stockings I've found.

The stockings give me the support I need and are comfortable and don't look like typical support hose.

I have had to wear surgical stockings in the past and automatically ordered what I had worn. Then, someone mentioned going to a lower degree of elasticity. Finding the right size was my problem so I ordered what they showed on their size chart and was delighted in the fit. The lighter hose does what the Doctor wants and it is not as uncomfortable.

I have been ordering Sigvaris socks lately even though they are somewhat pricey, but they do last far longer than other brands I have ordered. The only problem I have found with them is small holes developing in the heel area where the seams come together. I also did not like the color selection for the men's closed toe, thigh high socks, and wanted something that would closer match my own skin tone, so I ordered the ladies thigh high in a large size in sun tan, and finally got a color I liked, but they were open toe. I wish there were more options when it came to color and fabric. Like it would be nice if you could get the sun tan color in a thicker fabric like the black ones are made of.

Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
