Compression was perfect to help my leg from swelling during air travel.

I usually wear 20-30 medium long to have extra room in the crotch that usually wears out within a few months of use. I figured I try the 15-20mmHg it might be cooler underneath long pants in the summer and see if I can get away with less support. The cost is about 30% less then the stronger one. I wear out about 3 pair a year or more I constantly alternate about the 5 different pairs that I’m constantly wearing. Feels too short in the crotch, somehow it does not give as well. Overall does not have the same fit like the 20-30mmHg ML I’m 145 lbs 5ft 5 inches

I have been very satisfied with Sigvaris open toed and ,even more, closed toes pressure stockings. The open toed ones are excellent for summer wear with sandals. Their one downside is the foot part tends to shift around a bit. However, I find them to be a very good fit with good color selection. Naturally, the closed version is even better as it does not shift around and is a perfect fit with great texture and materials.

These stockings are amazing! I wear them at work where I stand 7 hours or more. They are super comfortable and look great. The waist band is not tight nor loose. The micro fiber make these stockings look better than expensive tights. When I tell people these are surgical stockings they are always surprised. I HIGHLY recommend these stockings. Love, love, love!!!

I am slim and my calves are thin; when I buy cheaper compression tights they are always big for me and no compression is felt around the ankles (which should be the tightest point). Also, some manufacturers imply that if you are size small, then you are short. I liked that Sigvaris provides within small size two options of tall and short. I like the sizing and the tights feel just right. I took off one star because of two things: 1) the material feels too synthetic for me, although it feels much softer than my Medi; 2) the top line is a little bit high for me, I wish it was low rise. Special thanks to the Discount Surgical for a fast service.

I have needed tights that fit for so long. Its very hard for me to find stockings that fit my unusual shape and if it werent for Sigvaris and their amazing sizing options I would be miserable. These are not different to me then wearing a pair of SPANX tights. My ankles are 10", my thighs 34" and my hips 58". NOTHING ever fits. I bough the large long in black and they FIT! My legs will feel amazing at work instead of hurting all day. I already had surgery for vericose veins and these will prevent me from needing more.

Q & A

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
