These are so comfortable. I have been purchasing these knee highs for years. They stay in place but sometimes at the end of the day they do slide down a little bit and sometimes they do cause a ring around my ankle but that's if I am on my feet all day and my legs swell. I used to get the long but after a couple of wears they stretch out. Now I get the short in XL and they stay in place. Love them and I order these all the time. Great for swelling and I put them on as soon as I get out of bed and take them off at the end of the day. This is an everyday routine to help my leg swelling and edema. And it works.

I have tried other brands on Mom and figured that the compression factor and fir should be the same for all compression stockings. I was wrong. The Sigvaris brand fits Mom the best and works the best on her to significantly decrease her edema.

Best Select Comfort Support Knee Highs on the market

I had purchased a different Sigvaris knee high, the 780 Ever Sheer series which fit well except for the band rolling at my knee, which dug in and left a dent around my leg, so not really as comfortable as I would have liked; they are also more fragile, being sheer. these were purchased through the store at our local hospital. Fortunately I found DSS. I tried several brands other than Sigvaris, but none of them fit well, most didn't have enough space for my toes, some were too short, or the tops rolled, or all of the above. Sigvaris is a little more expensive, but worth it. These stockings are terrific, and the silicon band makes them comfortable at the top of my calf, no rolling. There is plenty of room for my toes. Finding the right pair of stockings could have cost me hundreds of dollars, but it didn't, because DSS is the best!!!

I have looked for several years for this particular stocking. After many mistakes I have found them with you. They help me with circulation and protect my vericlose veins. My legs no longer feel sore and heavy. I reordered again and now I will buy another as a back up.

These knee highs were very easy to put on. When I first looked at them, I thought they were too short but they fit perfectly. My only complaint is that one of the knee highs smells musty. I've washed the pair a few times and the smell hasn't gone away but I'm hoping it will after a few more washings.

Q & A

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
