I have been purchasing Sigvaris surgical compression hose for many years now to prevent blood clots. I've only had 2 times when the product was less than satisfactory due to runs near the toe having only worn them a very few days. I generally purchase them every 6 months, two pair at a time and the service on line has been fine. The last pair I had to send back, I was charged a re-stocking fee (not a pun) which I thought a bit unfair as I'd only worn them 4-5 days when one of the stockings ran near the toe. Ordering online, directly has been a benefit: the surgical supply locally has some availability but not of this quality.

Just love these. They are very durable yet smooth and the silicone border really keeps the stocking up

I had some comfort issues with the shorter version, so thought I would try these. I don't know if I will be wearing them as often when the temperatures rise, but love them now. My legs do not get tired by the end of the day, when I wear them.

The sigvaris thigh high with suction borders are great fitting compression stockings. They are true to size and in description. I have ordered multiple pairs over the past couple years and they arrive quickly. They wash up nicely. I would recommend sigvaris as they are good quality at reasonable priceing.

Buying my stockings from Discount Surgical Stockings has been a great experience for me as they are shipped to my home and the price is the best, the delivery is right on time and they carry the brand that I use so all in all its a pleasure to deal with them.

Have ordered these for years and appreciate discounts very much.

These stockings hold up so well with no runs that I have to put a date on them to know how long I have worn them. With the thigh high I can wear them all the time even when dressed up wearing a slit skirt!

These hose are exceptional in support and are very durable. I was very pleased with these hose. They are a bit more expensive but worth it if you have to wear them on a daily basis.

I am in PT getting ready knee surgery. I was planning a trip to Florida in February so my therapist recommended I get these stockings for the flight since I was going to need them after my surgery anyway. She measured me and gave me the name of what to get. I was able to buy them $11 cheaper than I could get them from her. They fit great and feel wonderful. I am able to put them on by myself without too much trouble. I am glad I checked online for them.

I keep coming back to these. My doctor gave them to me at first. I use them especially when travelling, and they are the most durable and fit the best of all the brands I have tried.

Q & A

Ask a Question
2 questions for this item
Q: on my old box the sku # is 862nss066 . The new one i ordered, the sku # is 862nsl066. are the letters for length?
A: The difference between the two SKUs is the length. Let me break down the SKU: 862NSSO66 862N is the model number for the item, the first S is the size which is small, the second S is for the length which is short, O is for open toe, and 66 is the color which is crispa.
Q: on sizing my thighs are bigger than the chart says all the other measurements fit in the petite area except thighs. the band gets too stretch out. Should I go to a size medium or a small long length
A: Please call us with your measurments for a propper fitting
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
