I've worn them for over 2 years during cooler months. I like the fact that they support my legs all the way up. When they get older they tend to slip down but I wear them anyway and pull them up often. The knee highs tend to roll down at the top thus constricting the leg just below the knee. The thigh highs prevent that.

Socks arrived on time and fit perfectly. Especially like the ample toe room. In that sense they are superior to Jobst Relief.

I orderer products for my mother and the postal service delivered it as shown in tracking but I did not receive it. Luckily it was not a Christmas gift but it was just before Christmas. I had to wait 12 days before it was officially lost but after that the service I received was truly the best I could have expected. Our order was resent, special delivery and an extra item was included as they appreciated my being so patient in the whole thing. I appreciated the way it was all handled. Thank you so much. I would definitely order from you again.

This product fits perfectly and does a great job controlling my lymphedema

The solid silicone border on these is not good. I prefer the "dot" type silicone border. These actually burned my skin in a couple of places. I will not buy these again if I can avoid it.

I have worn 863NLSW Sigvaris compression hose for over fifteen years. When I recently placed a reorder, I was informed that the 863 series was no longer available. The replacement substitute was the 823 series. The very FIRST time I wore the 823NLSM stockings, I ripped one to shreds when I removed them at night! The exact same thing happened the first time I wore the second pair! I then switched to the lower compression 822NLSM stockings, but the continuous silicone band created blistering on my thighs! Bring back the 863 series, or find me a stash, please! This change is definitely NOT for the better!

I have worn these Sigvaris hose for twenty years and am totally pleased with them. I alternate between two pairs which last six months. One pair would not.

Sigvaris always fits well. I recently had a change of size due to successful treatments and I was a bit concerned that the size my therapist and I chose from the chart might not be a good fit, but I needn't have worried as they fit just fine. I was also extremely please with the promptness of delivery after ordering and I did not order special handling. I am very pleased with Discount Surgical.

Q & A

Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
