Sigvaris 503 C 30-40 mmHg
Knee High Open Toe
High Compression Unisex Stockings
Natural Rubber Material

Features:
Remarkable
Numerous scientific studies have shown the medical effectiveness of the 500 Natural Rubber Series. The material has a remarkably low 1% to 2% fatigue rate, making the stocking ideal for those with serious indications or long-term therapy.

Unique
Manufactured from double-covered elastodien yarn, a yarn made from soft, natural rubber and offering the greatest degree of elasticity while maintaining sustained compression throughout the day.

Easy Wear
Made from a porous, extremely permeable, and highly elastic fabric which makes the stocking easy to pull on and off, even in the higher compression categories.

Durable
The knitted fabric is double-covered textured yarn, and therefore retains its shape and is extremely durable.

My vascular doctor prescribed this exact stocking after an inebriated off-duty policeman ran me over in the street in 1989, causing a veinous incapacity just below my left knee. If I don't wear it, after three days I can't bend my ankle due to edema because the blood pools in my leg instead of circulating properly. He insisted I find Sigvaris stockings, and I haven't regretted adhering to his instruction. They do the job, are comfortable, and last a long time. I have looked at other brands and none works as well in terms of breathability and endurance.

My husband has been using the 503 C 30-40 mmHg knee high open toe high compression stockings for about 40 years. He's never tried anything else as he's been very happy with the sigvaris brand. For the last couple years we have gotten his stockings from Discount Surgical Stockings and we've been very happy with the service here.

These stockings are great leg savers. Takes the swelling and ache from ankles and legs. I would hate not to have them when I need them.

I have been wearing these for over ten years. Before I had problems with Stasis ulcers, but since then I have had no problems. A little too expensive, but still a great product.

I had some terrible reactions to drugs made by my dermatologist about ten years ago. There were open leasions in my shin area that went to the bone. My wife used ace bandages, but they were not putting enough pressure. For a while I thought they would never heal. I changed doctors and my new one told me about sigvaris. They were the best that I have ever used. They were only about $50 then, now up near $100. If you have any leg or circulation problems they will fix them. I am diabetic also and my legs do not swell now.

I've been wearing them for 40 years and the price keeps going up, which I understand partly. Quality if good and they do the job for me. Wish the toe assist was longer -- getting harder to use. I like the old style toe assist better. Overall -- satisfied.

I've been using these compression socks for 20 years. They're a bit expensive but worth every cent! I highly recommend them.
Ask a Question
Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
Q: Where are you? How's the weather?
A: We are located in Brooklyn, NY. Here is the current weather in our part of town. We hope the sun is shining by you!
