I'm mixed on the Sigvaris 972. The waist stretches beautifully for pure comfort however the legs fall down at the thighs so I'm constantly pulling them back up. I had my legs measured professionally so I'm not sure what the problem is with them. Still, compared to the pantyhose type stockings these at least have give in the waist and last long.

I have worn Sigvaris Support hose for years and have been completely satisfied. I've tried others but none can compare with the comfort and fit.

The fit is excellent. I am tall and order the long and they are just right.

I ordered size medium with short length, went by the measurement guide. It fits fairly well. For some reason, there is some resistance with walking or taking steps. The soft fabric makes it easy to put on and gives adequate compression. I had to return it due to restriction in movement.

I am very satisfied with my Sigvaris even though I do not look forward to wearing them in this coming warm weather, but my therapist says I must and it does really help with the lymphadema.

It was the most comfortable pair of hose I've ever ordered.

I love these stockings! I used to get them in Europe and they were hard to find. Also they were more expensive. I wear them all the time and they are easy to put on and very comfortable!

I have worn support hose for 25 years due to vericose veins and support hose have helped quite a bit with the pain. Discount Surgical has been a life saver since my health insurance doesn't pay for support hose until I meet a certain deductable. These support hose are just a good as buying them from a regular home health place, only cheaper.

These hose are a very good product. There are two reasons I didn't give them a five. The first is because I really don't like snug clothing around my waist (especially now that I'm pregnant). I normally don't like pantyhose at all because of this. However, I opted for hose over thigh highs because in the past I tried Jobst thigh highs (and even with the smallest size) they were too wide in the thigh and wouldn't stay up. I think this is because I'm tall and the hose came up lower on my thigh then they would on most people. The second reason I didn't give this product a five is because I feel that the underwear piece under the vaginal area needs to be bigger and extend further back. This sounds silly but tight hose don't allow for a lot of circulation. I' am a very clean person but I've had increased trouble with vaginal infections and also what I believe to be diaper rash. My doctor keeps giving me medications and acknowledged that sensitive skin needs circulation. For this reason I decided to try thigh highs again. I recently tried the Sigvaris soft opague thigh highs with the Sensinnov top band and found this product to be much better then the Jobst thigh highs. I got the Small long size and they stay on rather then folding over at the top and sliding down. I've been using this instead of the pantyhose because I don't want anything tight around my waist (even though the pantyhose stretch a lot). This would probably not bother most people. I'm just sensitive and have had a lot of discomfort with this particular pregnancy as it is. I do think you Sigvaris makes very good quality products and has better sizing then other companies. Thanks, Lindy

Questions that are on Your Mind
Q: Can you help me with sizing?
A: You can view the size chart here: size chart
You will need accurate measurements, so first learn how to measure.
Q: What is compression? What is the difference in compression?
A: You wear compression stockings to improve blood flow in your legs. Compression stockings gently squeeze your legs to move blood up your legs. This helps prevent leg swelling and, to a lesser extent, blood clots.
Q: What does mmHg mean?
A: mmhg stands for "millimeter of mercury", a way to measure pressure. The higher the number, the tighter the garment will squeeze and the more compression it provides.
Q: How can we wash the garments? And with which soap or detergent?
A: We recommend to hand wash in warm water and air dry. You can use mild soup of the washing solution that we provide such as the jobst jolastic, hosiery mate washing solution, sigvaris liquid washing solution etc. See our full washing instructions.
Q: What is the difference between open toe and close toe?
A: There is no therapeutic difference between open and closed toe socks. The choice is yours, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: What is opaque?
A: Opaque is a thicker material that provides great coverage and your skin will be far less visible. Usually worn in winter because of the thickness.
Q: What is sheer?
A: Sheer is a thinner, dressier material. Customer usually like these because they can use them as dress socks for work or church.
Q: Do I get compression at the toe area?
A: No. Compression begins at the ankle and gradually lessens as it goes up the leg. This reduces pooling in the legs and helps the veins return blood to the heart.
Q: Will a thicker material give me more support than the sheer material?
A: No. The compression provided is measured by mmHg and is the same no matter the material. The choice of material is up to you, whichever is more comfortable.
Q: If I get pantyhose will I get more compression than with a knee-hi?
A: No.
