Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis (plan-tur fas-e-I-tis) is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. Plantar fascitis is more common in runners and overweight indviduals who wear shoes with inadequate support. It is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia - the thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to you toes.
